Choosing the right sleeping bag is essential for comfort when you are camping. Consider the environment in which you are going to camp as you begin to review available options. Sean Scales, Outdoor Expert for Shoebuy.com, advises, "Sleeping bags are not one-size fits all, so you need to really know what you need before you make your purchase."
Four
Top Bags for Moderate Camping
Prices
for sleeping bags vary greatly - and you don't need to purchase the most
expensive bags if you're only going to camp occasionally in conditions that are
not extreme. Scales recommends, "If you're looking to camp just a couple
weekends per year in more controlled settings like your backyard or a
campground, it can be easy to overspend on features you may not need."
Scales
explains that a "traditional rectangular bag can work well for casual
overnights." If you want a mummy-style bag, that is fine - but you don't
have to buy the most expensive bag out there.
1. Marmot Mavericks
The Marmot Mavericks line is a great option
for recreational campers. The line features bags rated to 20, 30 and 40 degrees
Fahrenheit, so you can select the option that works best for the climate where
you will be camping. Shoebuy sent me a Marmot Mavericks 30 bag to try, so I can
say firsthand that it is well-suited for tent camping in a campground
environment in mild weather conditions. I found the bag to be comfortable and
roomy.
A Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA.com) forum user indicates being comfortable in the same bag I tried with temperatures in the 30s, and said that it was actually fine in the 20s when sleeping in sweats. A Backpacker.com review of the Marmot 20 model confirmed comfort in low temperatures along the Appalachian Trail, as well as indicated that the bag "rebuffed heavy condensation on five wet nights."
Features
Comes with a stuff stack for
easy packing, storing and carrying
Shell and lining are done in
polyester DWR
Contains SpiraFil™ insulation
Does not have a hood
Weighs less than three pounds
Purchase
The Marmot Mavericks 30 bag is just over $80 at REI. (The 40 model is around $64 and the 20 model is around $105; both are available from REI.)
2. Slumberjack Country Squire 20
Out of
more than 70 general purpose camping bags tested, Outdoor Gear Lab awarded its
Editors' Choice distinction to the Slumberjack Country Squire 20. Rated to 20
degrees Fahrenheit, this bag was the "widest and longest bag tested"
by Outdoor Gear Lab, and it was determined to also be the "most
comfortable" and "impressively warm." The reviewers found that
the bag is roomy enough for two people on its own, but if you have two of the
same bags you can zip them together for even more room.
Shell is made of 12-ounce
cotton duck canvas material
Lining is made of poly-cotton
Contains synthetic insulation
Does not have a hood
Comes with a duffel bag
Weighs 13 pounds (so you
probably won't want to take it backpacking!)
If you are a beginning backpacker who isn't
ready to venture into extreme conditions or if you simply prefer mummy style
sleeping bags, Kelty Cosmic Down 20 is a good option for you to consider.
Selected as an Outdoor Gear Lab Best Buy among backpacking sleeping bags, this
model has some of the benefits of more pricey backpacking bags without the
hefty price tag.
Outdoor Gear Lab's reviewers describe the
bag as an "excellent value." They particularly like the bag's draft
collar. They note that this bag isn't as warm (or light) as many other 20
degree bags - but for moderate camping, that really doesn't matter.
Backpacking Light recommends this bag for budget-minded campers, stating, "You could buy a bag that weighs a pound less and lofts better, but it would cost you roughly three times as much."
If you camp with children, it's important to get a quality, right-size sleeping bag for the youngsters in your party. KidProject.org blog names the Deuter Starlight EXP sleeping bag as the "best all-around sleeping bag" for kids. The reviewer states that they have used it with kids between the ages of four and ten, and that it works well to keep them warm in moderately cool temperatures - and particularly like that fact that it is designed to grow with your children. It is designed for children from 4'3" to 5'6".
In a Seattle Backpacker's Magazine review, the bag is given five stars after testing it with a three year old. The reviewer said, "Surprisingly, the bag did better than any of the others we had packed for the entire family" on a camping trip where the temperatures were in the 40s.
Features
There is a zipper in the bottom
of the bag that can be used to extend the length by up to 12 inches.
The two-way zipper is placed in
a way that will make it easy for youngsters to zip themselves in and out of the
bag.
Quality is important for all sleeping bags,
but most especially for those who will camp in extreme conditions. Scales
states, "When you are looking for a high-quality sleeping bag, you want to
ensure you're choosing a top brand in this category - especially if you're
going to be in extreme conditions." He explains, "Temperature ratings
are very useful when you're deciding what high-quality bag to choose. If you're
looking at a style that does not include a temperature rating, you're most
likely not looking at a high quality bag." He also points out, "A
serious camping bag should have some sort of head cover and a snugger
fit."
1.
Feathered Friends Hummingbird 20
Outdoor Gear Labs selected the Feathered Friends Hummingbird 20 as Editors' Choice for backpacking sleeping bags tested out of a total of 30 models tested. Reviewers stated that this bag is the "best lightweight hooded bag tested" and particularly liked the fact that it comes in multiple sizes (regular and long) to allow backcountry campers to get the best possible fit.
As it
is rated only to 20 degrees Fahrenheit, Outdoor Gear Labs recommends the bag
for three season camping.
Features
Mummy style bag
Hood can be adjusted for a snug
or more open fit

Shell is made from Pertex®

2. Western Mountaineering Alpinlite
Professional mountain photographer, author
and mountaineering enthusiast based out of the French Alps Alexandre Buisse
lists Western Mountaineering's Alpinlite as his sleeping bag of choice on his
website. He states, "It's only rated to -7C , but that should be enough
for summer climbs when sleeping fully clothed. The weight compromise makes it
worth it." (-7C is equivalent to 20 degrees Fahrenheit).
A TrailGroove.com review points out that Western Mountaineering bags are widely recognized for their quality and that this bag "doesn't disappoint."
Features
Mummy style bag
Has continuous baffles
Filled with down
Has a down collar
Available in three sizes (sizes
based on height; 5'6", 6' and 6'6")
Weight varies based on height
selected; the shortest bag is one pound and 13 ounces and the tallest one is
two pounds and one ounce.
Rated to -20 degrees and designed to keep water off campers, Marmot's Col MemBrain is reviewed favorably on Backpacker.com. The site's testers tried it out in Colorado and reported that the fabric effectively keeps moisture away while also being breathable.
They noted that the fabric is able to
"breathe so well that the 20-below bag stays comfortable to 20
above." This bag is a great winter bag, especially for climbers and other
who enjoy camping in the mountains during the snowy season and those who
combine camping and winter hunting.
Features
Mummy style bag
Outer fabric is waterproof
Lining is made from
water-resistant nylon
Insulation is goose down
Hood has six baffles and can be
drawn in for a close fit as needed
Has a face muff
Comes with a storage pouch
Weighs just under four pounds

Order from Marmot for around $700.
4.
Sierra Designs Zissou
If you're looking for a true four-season sleeping bag for cold and wet conditions, the Zissou line from Sierra Designs is a good option to consider. Rated for temperatures as low as six degrees Fahrenheit and featuring DriDown technology, this bag will keep you warm and dry in all kinds of weather.
The blogger who writes GearCaster.com used the sleeping bag on a December and January trip across several of the coldest states in the U.S. with positive results. Even sleeping in the car with the windows up, which resulted in significant condensation, the sleeping bag provided warmth and stayed dry. A review on ActiveGearReview.com describes this bag as "a great value."
Features
Mummy style bag
Hood created with ergonomic
design
Footbed created with ergonomic
design
Rated for four-season comfort
Filled with down that has been
treated with DriDown insulation
Those who camp year-round may need more
than one sleeping bag, depending on personal preferences and temperature
extremes. Scales states, "If your climate does not vary significantly, one
bag could work, but if you are camping through true seasons, you likely will
want to arm yourself with bags that will ensure you are getting a comfortable
night's rest."
He points out, "With a little extra
thermal layering of clothes, you may find that the bag you use in the fall and
spring is still a good choice for you in the colder temperatures of the winter.
That said, a bag that is designed for 20 or 0 degree conditions is likely not
the right fit for a camper enjoying an outing in mid-July."
Recreational
Camping Considerations
Scales states, "The recreational
camper should focus first on warmth and comfort, then consider additional
attributes."
Transportation: Scales
indicates that transportation is an important consideration. He states,
"If you're driving to your campsite, weight will be less of a factor;
however, if you need to trek a bit with all of your gear, you may want to bring
a lighter bag that is comfortable to carry and also doesn't weigh you
down."
Bag Features: "Bags
that zip together and bags that feature built-in pillows or compartments for
things like your mobile device and an extra pair of socks are also great
features to consider," says Scales.
Backcountry
Extreme Camping Considerations
According to Scales, "For the more
extreme type of camper, weight and portability are key when considering a
sleeping bag, along with temperature ratings and preference for sleeping
space."
Personal Preference: "While
one camper may prefer a roomier bag, another may prefer a more compact space
that is lighter to travel with. Considering your traditional sleeping
preference will help you decide what style you'd prefer," says Scales.
Weather Conditions: Scales
states, "While the mix of compression and portability is an area to think
through, the most important factor in extreme conditions should be the bag's
temperature rating and material as this type of camper may find themselves in
an environment that lacks a tent to lock in heat and keep them dry."
Cold Climates: For
cold climates, Scales recommends, "While down filled bags are often more
costly, they are worth the up-front investment for a serious camper who is
about to brave the cold; however, it should be noted that most of these bags
are not waterproof."
Wet Climates: For
wet climates, Scales suggests "A synthetic bag or a bag that features a
durable water repellent finish is often a cheaper expense that will help keep a
camper dry in wet climates. However, it should be noted that these types of
bags tend to provide less warmth compared to down filled bags.
Wide
Variety
With so many options in such a wide variety
of price points, it's easy to see why it's important to consider your exact
needs and preferences before you start shopping. Scales recommends starting to
shop only after "you've narrowed down what features are must-haves and
those that are nice-to-have."

There are many things that constitute snowboarding equipment, from the snowboard itself, to bindings, boots, gloves, toques/helmets, and more. An absolutely essential article is a good pair of snowboarding goggles, but how can you know which one is right for you? The following tips will show you how to equip yourself with the best for this popular winter sport.
Tips
for Choosing Snow Goggles
Comfort
First
First
and foremost, you want your snowboarding goggles to be comfortable because you
will be wearing them the entire time you're on the ski hill (or half-pipe, as
the case may be). Ensure that there is enough foam padding on the goggles where
it meets your face, with no sharp edges exposed which could cut into you. Make
sure that the goggles fit well and that they are neither too big nor too small.
Look for Ventilation
Without
proper ventilation, not only will your eyes (and face) get quite uncomfortable
from the stuffiness, but your goggles will likely fog up. This can be quite the
dangerous proposition, especially since you'll be flying down the mountain at
breakneck speed. There should be vents both on the top and bottom of the
goggles, and ideally the lenses themselves are anti-fog. Your own body heat
will cause most of the fogging, so while in the store, try breathing into the
inside of the goggles and see how well the lenses hold up.
UV Protection Is a Must
The
actual color of the lenses themselves is of personal preference, with most
snowboard goggle models coming in a variety of hues. I tend to avoid the yellow
lenses myself because it makes the scene appear too bright for my
tastes, while at the same time, you should avoid lenses that are too dark as
well so that you are not going down the ski hill completely blind. Most people
opt for an orange or pinkish hue.
Despite
the fact that snowboarding is primarily a winter sport, the sun still plays a
significant role because its bright rays reflect off of the white snow and into
your eyes. In this way, your ski goggles will double as a pair of sunglasses.
Most snowboarding goggles come with UV protection and some form of anti-glare,
but double check with the sales associate before making your purchase.
Consider Style and Appearance
Your
snowboarding goggles are also an article of clothing, so to speak, and
snowboarding is an incredibly fashionable sport. While this may not be a
concern to some people, it will dictate the choices made by many more. Consider
the color that your touque, snowboard jacket, snowboard pants, board, bindings,
and the like will be and try to find a pair of goggles that match or complement
your chosen color scheme.
Popular Snow Goggle Brands
There
are many reputable brands in the business of making snowboarding goggles, most
of which you'd already be familiar with through your journeys of looking for
other snowboard and ski gear. Among the most popular companies that people turn
to include:
Oakley
Spy
Uvex
Smith
Scott
Dragon
Prices Vary by Quality
As with everything else, the prices for a decent pair of snowboarding goggles vary widely. At the low end, you can pick up bargain basement pairs for less than $30 (try to avoid these) and the sky is the limit when it comes to professional-level goggles. As a rule of thumb, most sets for the average casual snowboarder will run you between $80-$120. Shop around for the best deal. Hitting up the outlet malls and eBay for last year's model is usually a good idea, because as a hobby, you don't need the most cutting edge snowboarding goggle technology.

If
you're experiencing stomach pain during exercise, there are a number of
potential causes. You may be able to narrow down the cause based on other
symptoms. It will also depend on the circumstances surrounding your pain and
how it manifests.
Muscle Tightness and Cramping
If your abdominal or psoas muscles are tight, you may experience pulling, a sharp pinch during movement, or a gripping sensation, such as a cramp. You'll know that this is the cause because it will have occurred during movement.
How to
Prevent Cramping
You can prevent this from happening again
by following a few guidelines.
Make sure to stay properly hydrated on a daily basis. Dehydration can lead to muscle tension. When the muscles aren't properly lubricated, they aren't as pliable. This is true during exercise and throughout regular activity as well. For optimal results, aim to drink 50 percent of your body weight in ounces of water every single day.
Warm up before you work out. Cold muscles are easy to over-stretch. A proper warm-up will heat them so that they become loose and flexible. A routine of light self-massage with a foam roller followed by five to 10 minutes of walking, cycling, or dynamic stretching should do the trick. Here is a video with a few quick ways you can foam roll your psoas, a hip flexor that extends from your abdominal region to your lower back.
If the pain persists, consider checking
with a sports chiropractor. Muscle strains are a common cause of tightness. A
professional can help with the process of healing through soft tissue work and
exercise suggestions.
Digestive Issues
Due to the way that working out naturally causes inflammation in the body, gastrointestinal problems can bubble up during exercise, leading to the experience of pain in the abdomen. This can take a few forms, like gas and/or constipation, cramping, acid reflux, or diarrhea. This cause may be as simple as working out too soon after eating or having eaten the wrong type of food.
Tips to
Avoid Abdominal Pain
The best thing you can do to avoid this
kind of flare up is to monitor what you eat through proper meal selection and
timing.
Avoid eating a large meal within two to three hours before exercise. This will vary depending on how fast your body processes food, so it may take a bit of trial and error to figure out the right timing for you.
If you must eat closer to your workout, keep your pre-workout meal light. It should be something that is easy to digest, such as a meal replacement shake or a piece of fruit and a handful of nuts.
If the pain recurs, seek the advice of a registered dietitian. They can test for underlying food allergies and sensitivities or possible conditions, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). They will also guide you in the process of adopting better nutrition habits for a healthier, happier gut.
Hernia
Probably the biggest cause for concern if
you are experiencing stomach pain during exercise is the potential of an
abdominal hernia. A hernia is when the intestine or lining of the colon breaks
through the muscle wall. It can be experienced as a burning sensation or a constant
ache, and is accompanied by the appearance of a bulge at the site of injury.
According to MedicineNet, hernias can build up over time for a variety of reasons, but are often exacerbated during heavy lifting.
Taking antacids, proton pump inhibitors, and H-2 receptor blockers
Surgery
In many cases, surgery is elective. It is a good option if symptoms occur even after making lifestyle changes. If you are concerned that you may have a hernia, contact your primary care physician to be tested. It's important to note that you can still exercise with a hernia, but you may need to modify your routine.
A Healthier Lifestyle
When it comes to figuring out what is
causing your abdominal pain during exercise, it's best to look at the entire
picture. The experience itself, along with your lifestyle habits and health
history can provide clues. Check in with your doctor every year or two for
physicals and current blood work. Express any concerns you have so that you can
start taking measures to avoid injury before it arises. Also, be sure to stay
hydrated, eat a healthy diet, and maintain a balanced exercise routine to keep
your body fit and strong.
Exercises for basketball players should be designed to improve the skills needed specifically for the sport. Basketball is tough. It requires players to run, jump, slide, backpedal and even dive to make a play. The sport's requirements are so extensive that setting up an exercise program for basketball players actually gives you a lot of freedom to incorporate a number of different types of exercise.
Types of Exercises for
Basketball Players
To develop well-rounded players, you'll
need to plan well-rounded exercise routines. Include each of these types of
exercises for basketball players into your workout plan each week.
Endurance
Training
If you've ever watched a game of basketball, you probably realize there's a lot of running involved in the sport. Not only do athletes have to sprint back and forth across the court, they have to maintain enough endurance conditioning to be able to play the entire game. Incorporating interval endurance exercise into a basketball player's routine will prepare her for the game. One way to do this is to have the players jog around the court 20 to 30 times, sprinting the length of the court, then jogging the width.
Speed
Training
When there's a fast break situation taking
place, your players need to be able to sprint down the court as fast as they
can. Speed training will prepare them for these situations. You can have them
run "horses" for time, or you can plan drills that mimic real-life
fast breaks. For instance, you could start two offensive players at half-court,
and a defensive player behind them at the free throw line. When you say
"go," the offensive players begin running toward the opposite basket
and the defensive player has to try to catch up to the offensive players,
sprinting as fast as she can to stop the easy bucket.
Plyometric
Training
Basketball players have to jump in order to
rebound, shoot and intercept a poorly thrown pass. The faster and higher your
players can jump, the better they'll be able to play. Incorporate plyometric
jumping exercises into your practices to help them improve their skills. You
can add real-life drills into your practices, like rebounding drills where the
players practice jumping off both feet to retrieve the ball, or you can set up
cone stations, where players jump back and forth over cones to improve their
jumping speed.
In addition to lower body plyometric training, you can also perform upper body plyometric training. Like lower body training, upper body plyometric exercises will help improve the strength and power of your player's arms, chest and back. You can add upper body plyometric exercises by incorporating medicine ball throws into your practice or performing "up/down" exercises that require the players to explosively move from a pushup position to a standing or jumping position.
Agility
Training
Basketball players slide, backpedal and
change direction on a dime. You want to prepare your players to perform these
motions in a coordinated fashion. At the start of every practice, incorporate a
series of warm-ups that involve bounding, sliding, backpedaling, skipping and
sprinting back and forth across the court. Then, add game-like exercises like
crossover dribbles, defensive slides and going for a loose ball.
Strength
Training
You want your players to remain strong
throughout the season. Strength training will help players hold their ground
when fighting for position under the basket. Incorporate at least eight to 10
strength training exercises with your athletes two to three times a week. When
possible, avoid performing strength training exercises the day before or the
day of a game. When you plan the workout, be sure to incorporate compound
movements that target multiple muscle groups like squats, lunges, pushups,
pull-ups and deadlifts. Round out the routine with abdominal work and isolation
exercises like planks, hamstring curls and shoulder presses.
Planning Your Exercise
Routine
It may seem like there are too many different types of exercises to be able to plan a well-balanced routine. Luckily, most of the exercises for basketball players can be easily incorporated into a normal basketball practice. If you practice five days a week, plan on incorporating strength training for 20 minutes, two or three days a week, then spend the rest of your practice time alternating between exercises and drills designed to enhance the other elements of a basketball players' skills.

On a
cold Tuesday night in Perth's northern suburbs, Alistair McMurdo gathers his
team.
"If the door closes, don't force your
way through," he tells the Northern Redbacks Women's Soccer Club's under
16s side.
"Be comfortable on the ball. Keep
possession and start again."
It is half-time in a scratch match and the
team is leading one-nil.
But McMurdo is clear on what he wants to
see in the second half.
"It's like a team of ghosts out there.
There's only one or two who are doing the talking," he explains
Competition expected to be tough
The Redbacks are preparing for the biggest
tournament of their short careers when they travel to Gothenburg in Sweden to
play in the Gothia Cup later this month.
It is billed as the World Youth Cup and
features 1,700 teams, both male and female, from 80 countries across multiple
age groups.
"We've had a little bit of insight,
and delved into the background of some of the teams that are going to be
there," McMurdo said.
They have previous history of this
tournament and know what to expect."
The Redbacks are the first girls' side from
Western Australia to compete at the tournament since its inception in 1975.
"It's such a privilege to be part of a
team, and have the opportunity to go to Sweden," captain Grace Monteiro
said.
"I expect, as captain, hard work and
dedication from the team."
Chance to be spotted by scouts
The Redbacks will begin their campaign
against two Swedish teams and a side from the United States — countries with
strong women's football programs.
Despite being used to winning, as seven
trophies in the past three years illustrate, they are not expecting too much of
themselves.
"They are capable girls' teams that
are going to be hard to compete against, but hopefully we produce a win at some
stage," Monteiro said.
"I expect the American team to have a
great skill level."
McMurdo sees the tournament as an
opportunity for his players to experience a different style of soccer, as well
as to perform under the eye of professional scouts.
The Redbacks boast Matildas legend and record goal scorer Lisa De Vanna amongst their alumni, and the tournament could be the perfect stage for the next generation to showcase their skills.
"We've got two senior girls going, who
are a year older, who may wish to turn professional, and there may be somebody
there just to watch them," McMurdo said.
Soccer superstars among previous competitors
The tournament has been running for 44
years and over that time almost a million players from 146 countries have taken
part.
Those players include some of the game's
biggest stars.
England and Premier League legend Alan
Shearer and Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic are just two who played at the
Gothia Cup.
Zlatan is a great player. So going to a
tournament that he has been to potentially means one of our girls could be an
international player at some stage," Monteiro said.
"It makes the tournament bigger."

Walking is one of the easiest forms of exercise to build and maintain fitness. Even if you are extremely out of shape, you can slowly begin building a fitness routine centered around walking. It requires minimal equipment and is easy to incorporate into your daily lifestyle, making it the ideal fitness activity for people at all levels of fitness.
Building a Walking Program
Walking is easily tailored to all levels of fitness. If you are quite sedentary, you will need to start much more slowly than if you are already in pretty good shape. Like other forms of activity, walking helps build cardiovascular endurance, as well as muscular endurance.
Increasing
the Effectiveness
When planning your walking program to build
fitness, you can change three variables to increase the effectiveness of your
workout: frequency, intensity, and duration.
Frequency refers
to how often you walk.
Intensity refers
to how difficult the workout is. You can vary your intensity via speed or terrain.
In other words, to make a walking workout more intense, you can walk faster,
spend more time walking on hills, or a combination of the two.
Duration refers
to how long you walk.
Eight-Week
Walking Program
A good walking program takes all three variables into account. Use the following table to begin to tailor your own personal walking program. Once you've reached the end of the eight weeks for your activity level, you can move up to the next level and begin that program. Once you reach advanced, follow the provided tips for increasing the intensity of your workouts.
Warm Up
and Cool Down
Walking, like every other physical activity, requires a warm-up and cool-down. Likewise, you should always follow your cool down with stretching to maintain muscle flexibility and range of motion. To warm up, walk for five minutes at a slower pace. To cool down, gradually slow your pace for about five minutes.
Keeping
Track
It may help maintain routine to track your
program. Simple entries listing the date, duration, and intensity will suffice.
You can also use a pedometer to track mileage, which can give you a good idea
of the speed you are walking so you can adjust your intensity as needed.
Cautions and Contraindications
Before beginning any exercise routine,
check with your doctor to ensure you are in good health. A walking routine may
be contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
Foot, ankle, knee, leg, or hip
problems
Deep vein thrombosis in the
lower extremity
Acute or severe back pain
If you have serious disease, such as heart
disease, diabetes, or cancer always talk with your doctor before beginning a
program.
Equipment
The great thing about walking is that you
don't need a lot of equipment. However, you must have is a pair of good walking
shoes. Visit your local sporting goods store to be fitted for a pair of shoes
especially designed for walking. If you walk several times per week, you may
want to have a few pairs of shoes you wear in rotation in order to allow the
other pair time to dry. This makes for more comfortable walking and protects
your feet.
Other equipment you may need includes the
following:
Walking clothes: A leisurely stroll doesn't necessarily call for athletic clothing, but if you want to get serious about walking, then you will want to get clothing that is conducive to exercise. Clothes designed for walking are comfortable and allow for airflow so you aren't drenched in sweat by the time your walk is over. Find clothing in fabrics that wick away sweat and minimize chafing.
Socks: When you walk great distances and your feet sweat, socks begin to make a difference. Cotton socks are just about the worst kind for walking long distances, because they absorb sweat and can cause blisters. Instead, look for technical fabrics designed especially for walking that wick moisture and minimize friction.
Music player: Whether you choose an MP3 player or a small portable radio, you may find that walking is a lot more fun when you do it while listening to your favorite music. Make sure you follow local laws about wearing music devices while walking; some places - like military installations - do not allow pedestrians to wear headphones.
Walking/jogging stroller: Why not bring your kids along on your walks and show them how much fun it can be to exercise while enjoying the outdoors? Be sure to test drive plenty of different walking strollers before making your purchase because pushing a difficult stroller can ruin walks quickly.
Ready to Walk
Even if you don't have any equipment, you can get started walking today. Take a ten-minute stroll outdoors, and then do it again in a few days. If you keep it up regularly and gradually increase the time you spend walking, you'll be well on your way to getting fit.
